Australian evidence / practical improvement

Australian results.
A practical reason to act.

Australian programs show the value of reviewing safety arrangements and following through on improvements. These examples concern government programs and inspections, not this scorecard or predicted SafeAlign outcomes.

WORKSAFE QUEENSLAND / IPaM

Regulator-reported program outcomes

Fewer claims.
Lower premiums.

27%fewer claims
11%lower workers’
compensation premiums

WorkSafe Queensland reported these outcomes for businesses participating in its Injury Prevention and Management (IPaM) program in March 2025. [1]

IPaM combines assessment, a tailored improvement plan, implementation support and review. [2]

Your practical takeawayStart by finding what needs attention. Turn the findings into actions your team can implement and check.

Read in context: these are reported results from a separate government program, not guaranteed SafeAlign savings. The publication does not explain the evaluation period or comparison method.

COMCARE / PSYCHOSOCIAL INSPECTIONS

Independent evaluation reported by Comcare

Better understanding.
Stronger commitment.

Comcare reports that an independent evaluation of its 2023–2024 pilot found employers better understood psychosocial hazards, increased their commitment to psychological health and safety, and were helped to meet WHS requirements. [3]

The program reviews safety arrangements and brings together feedback from senior leaders, workers and health and safety representatives. [3]

Your practical takeawayCompare the leadership view with the experience of people doing the work. Use the differences to focus the next conversation.

Read in context: this was a psychosocial inspection program, not an online self-check. Comcare’s published summary gives no percentage reduction in injuries or premiums.

Australian risk-management and leadership guidance

A clear process. Active leadership.

These sources explain the approach to take, rather than predicting a financial return.

SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA

Identify. Assess. Control. Review.

Safe Work Australia describes a step-by-step risk-management process. Its guidance links effective risk control with preventing harm and improving work quality and productivity. [4]

The model Code of Practice explains how to apply this process. Check its legal effect in your jurisdiction. [5]

Your practical takeaway: choose what needs checking, then implement and review the appropriate controls with your team.

SAFEWORK NSW / OFFICER DUE DILIGENCE

Leadership means following through.

SafeWork NSW’s guidance calls for active verification that safety resources and processes are provided and used. Its officer self-assessment helps identify strengths, improvement areas and actions. [6]

Your practical takeaway: establish what you need to ask, decide and follow through. This tool supports that conversation; it does not discharge an officer’s duty.

The programs and agencies cited are independent of GSD Safety and SafeAlign; no affiliation or endorsement is implied. This scorecard has not been independently validated and does not guarantee reductions in injuries, premiums or costs. Assessment is a starting point: improvement requires appropriate action and review. Apply the law and guidance relevant to each location.

Assess / a sample question

Could you name the three safety risks that most need your attention?

Think about physical and mental health. Three helps focus this discussion; it is not a limit on the risks to manage.

You do not need every answer.

You need a useful starting point. Your results help you choose what to ask, decide or follow through.

From a question to a practical next step

Make the next three months count.

Choose a priority. Shape a starting plan with your team, or use it as the basis for a tailored conversation with GSD Safety and SafeAlign.

MONTH 1 / ASSESS

Understand the issue.

Agree the scope, check what already exists and clarify the gap that needs attention.

MONTH 2 / ALIGN

Make action possible.

Agree the practical change, who owns it and the decisions or resources they need.

MONTH 3 / ASSURE

Check what changed.

Confirm the result, identify unfinished work and agree how to keep progress visible.

The three-month plan is a scoped starting point, not a promise that every issue can be resolved in that time. Immediate risks need action now.

Before you start

A few useful answers.

How long does the assessment take?

The 25 questions are designed to take less than five minutes when answered from your current understanding. This is a design target, not a timed guarantee. Optional notes, site entries, cost inputs and editing your team plan take additional time.

Are the results and tailored plan really free?

Yes. Your dashboard, answer-linked recommendations and proposed three-month starting plan are available immediately after completing the 25 questions, without payment. You can edit, save and print them. Any consulting, implementation or ongoing SafeAlign support is separately discussed, scoped and quoted.

We already manage safety internally. Is this relevant?

Yes. It focuses on your executive view and the questions worth discussing with your existing team. It does not replace their work or assume your business is unsafe.

We are ISO 45001 certified. Is this another audit?

No. It is a self-reported conversation guide informed by WHS and ISO 45001 themes. It does not test legal compliance, verify controls or certify safety performance.

Do I need financial records to complete it?

No. The 25 questions can be answered from your current understanding. Site details and financial inputs are optional. You can add them later with Finance or your site leaders.

We only have one site. Can we use it?

Yes. Read the visibility questions across your teams, departments or work areas where appropriate, and record the scope you used.

Who receives my details and results?

No information is sent by this standalone page. It prepares an email to admin@safealign.com.au in your own email app. You review the draft, attach your selected report and send it there. Notes, actions, sites and costs have separate sharing choices.

What happens after I share my result?

After you send your email, the SafeAlign team can contact you about your chosen priorities and discuss whether a scoped review or support would be useful. Preparing a draft does not send it, book a meeting or create a subscription.

Will this fix our safety issues in three months?

The recommendations show a practical three-month pathway for a selected issue. Actual scope and timing depend on what is found, the resources available and the changes required. Immediate hazards cannot wait for a planned review.
