1. ASSESS
Two days in your workshop and, where it matters, on a live site. We test your plant, permits and procedures against the WHS Act and engineering practice, then hand over a detailed risk analysis and a reporting dashboard.
2. ALIGN
Ninety days of structured fixes in priority order: isolation procedures, plant risk assessments, hot work controls, contractor documentation. By the end, the system is in use on the floor, not stored in a folder.
3. ASSURE
Continuing support from a senior WHS consultant, structured around your workload, so the system keeps pace as you take on new plant, new clients and new sites.

What does an engineering WHS consultant do?
An engineering WHS consultant assesses the hazards in your workshop, on client sites and in your design work, then builds the systems to control them. GSD Safety works with engineering businesses across Australia, including fabrication and machining workshops, structural and mechanical contractors, maintenance and field service teams, and engineering design firms. Support ranges from a single workshop to multi-site operations.
Can GSD Safety help with plant guarding and lock-out tag-out?
Yes. GSD Safety reviews plant risk assessments, guarding and isolation procedures, including lock-out tag-out, so machines are safe during normal running, cleaning, maintenance and breakdowns. We also train your team in LOTO on site and through VR.
Can you help us meet client prequalification and tender safety requirements?
We help engineering businesses build the WHS management system, records and evidence that clients and principal contractors ask for during prequalification and contractor audits. We make sure what you submit is accurate and backed by what happens on the floor.
Do engineering designers have WHS duties?
Yes. Under the WHS Act, businesses that design plant or structures for use at work must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the design is without risks to health and safety, and must pass on safety information to others. GSD Safety helps design teams build that into their processes and records.
Does GSD Safety issue high risk work licences?
No. GSD Safety doesn’t issue high risk work licences, such as forklift or crane licences, and our training isn’t nationally accredited. It’s practical, role-specific training designed to change how work gets done. For licences and accredited tickets, we’ll refer you to a Registered Training Organisation.
How long does it take to get an engineering workshop compliant?
The Assess stage takes two days on site. The Align stage runs over 90 days and deals with the highest-risk gaps first, so the most serious exposures in your workshop are fixed early rather than at the end.
