A warehouse is one of the busiest, most dangerous environments in any business. Forklifts and people share the same floor, loads move at height, trucks reverse into docks all shift, and the pressure to hit dispatch targets never lets up. Get the safety systems wrong and it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt.
- Do forklifts and pedestrians still cross paths in areas that were never properly separated?
- Has damaged racking been flagged, then left in service because pulling it means losing pallet positions?
- Do casual and labour-hire staff hit the floor after a rushed induction, especially during peak?
- Is throughput growing faster than the safety systems that were built for a smaller operation?
GSD Safety works with warehousing and logistics operators to build safety systems that survive a real shift: forklift traffic, order picking at height, loading docks, manual handling and constant staff turnover. We fix the systems that protect your people and your output, then give you the tools to keep them running.
From a single distribution shed to a multi-site 3PL network, the duty of care doesn’t change, and neither does the standard of work we bring.
How Our WHS Consultants Help
Prevent serious injuries
By separating people from forklifts and mobile plant, and putting real controls where the floor is most likely to hurt someone.
Prevent safety gaps
By building systems that match how your site runs across every shift, dock and storage area.
Prevent a disengaged crew
By delivering practical, role-specific training your operators and pickers will use, even during a high-turnover peak.
Prevent failed audits and non-conformance
By giving you records and reporting that stand up to the regulator and to your customers' supplier audits.
Our WHS Services for Warehousing & Logistics
Each service can be delivered on its own or rolled into one program. We can also build something around the specific gaps on your site.
Say Goodbye to Safety Firefighting
Ready to stop reacting to incidents and start getting ahead of them? Book a free WHS assessment and take the first real step toward a safer, more compliant warehouse operation.
The Impact of Getting WHS Wrong
In a warehouse, one serious incident does not stay contained. A forklift strike or a racking collapse can stop dispatch, bring in the regulator, and put a major customer contract at risk, since most large clients now audit their logistics partners on safety as well as service.
Depending on the severity of an incident, the consequences can include:
- Fines up to $1.5M for individuals
- Fines up to $3.7M for businesses
- Jail time for serious injuries, deaths or serious near misses
- Production shutdowns while the site is investigated and remediated
- Lost supply contracts when customers review your safety record
- Lasting damage to your brand and reputation
You can manage all of that proactively, or you can manage it after something goes wrong. There is no rewind button on a workplace injury. Doing the work up front is always the cheaper path.
The GSD SAFETY Process
Getting a warehouse safe and compliant comes down to three stages: Assess, Align, Assure.
1. ASSESS
We come on site for two days and measure your current safety arrangements against the WHS Act and industry practice. You get a detailed risk analysis and a reporting dashboard that shows exactly where you stand.
2. ALIGN
Over 90 days, we overhaul the systems that need it and set your site on a path of continuous improvement. This is the stage where stuff actually gets done, quickly and in the right order.
3. ASSURE
We stay engaged on a structure that suits you, so the gains hold and you save on the cost of carrying every bit of safety management in-house.

Warehousing & Logistics SAFETY FAQS
Do you work with warehouses outside Sydney?
Yes. GSD Safety supports warehousing and logistics operators Australia-wide, from single distribution sheds to multi-site 3PL networks. Our consultants travel to site for assessments and use app-based tools to support sites between visits.
What warehouse safety risks do you focus on?
We focus on the hazards that injure warehouse workers most: forklift and pedestrian interaction, pallet racking damage and collapse, working at height during order picking, manual handling, loading dock and reversing-vehicle safety, and mobile plant operation.
Can you write and implement a traffic management plan?
Yes. Separating people from forklifts and mobile plant is core warehouse work for us. We assess your site layout and traffic flow, then build and help implement the exclusion zones, walkways, signage and controls that keep them apart.
Do you help with pallet racking safety?
Yes. We help set up rack inspection and damage-reporting processes, load-limit signage and repair procedures aligned with AS 4084, so damaged racking is found and dealt with before it fails.
Is your WHS training nationally accredited?
Our training is practical and role-specific, delivered on site and through VR modules covering things like working around forklifts, manual handling and working at heights. It is designed to change how your team works on the floor. It is not nationally accredited VET training, so if you need formal qualifications we will point you in the right direction.
What does a WHS assessment involve?
We spend two days on site reviewing your safety arrangements against the WHS Act and industry practice, then give you a risk analysis and a reporting dashboard showing your current position and priorities. The initial assessment enquiry is free.
